Founded on October 31, 1957, we initially started a business repairing electric motors and similar equipment in Wakayama Prefecture. The original trade name, "Yamato Electric Co., Ltd.," comes from the founder's name and the place of establishment.

In 1961, with the start of repairs for heavy electrical equipment as the dedicated repair workshop for Sumitomo Metal Industries, Wakayama Steel Works (now Nippon Steel Corporation), the company became known by its current name, Chotaku Electric Co., Ltd.

In 1961, we received an urgent repair request for a Bayer stepless transmission from the Wakayama City Waterworks Bureau, and, with the cooperation and guidance of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., we successfully completed the restoration in a short time. This became a turning point, and we began handling repair work for various customers' Sumitomo Heavy Industries products, including cycloidal reducers and Bayer transmissions.

In 1971, during the construction of the Kashima Steel Works by Sumitomo Metal Industries, Ltd., we carried out the installation work of rolls and cyclo systems for the heavy plate finishing line. In the following years, together with the Kashima branch of Chotaku Electric Works, Ltd., we performed maintenance tasks at the steelworks and have honed our skills together as service providers.

Since then, we have built up technical expertise by developing our repair business primarily for products of Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd., obtained certification as an authorized service shop for the company, and subsequently continued our business activities as an agent for the company, as well as an agent for Shinnihon Zoki Co., Ltd.
